Moving smallholder rice farmers from subsistence to commerce

The challenge

Tens of thousands of rice farmers were locked out of formal markets by poor inputs, no mechanization and no reliable buyer.

Our approach

WARC designed a market system around Trading Hubs — bundling inputs, mechanized services and guaranteed offtake — and built the field-data systems to run and measure it.

The result

  • A repeatable hub model linking farmers to dependable buyers
  • Higher yields through regenerative practice and quality inputs
  • Year-round field data underpinning traceable supply

Designing a regenerative agronomy programme at scale

The challenge

A national programme needed regenerative practices that farmers would actually adopt — and a way to prove the soil and yield gains.

Our approach

WARC translated regenerative agronomy into simple field protocols delivered through women-led training hubs, with soil-health monitoring built in from day one.

The result

  • 100+ women-led training hubs activated
  • Practical protocols adopted across thousands of plots
  • Soil-health and yield gains measured season over season

Unlocking private capital for first-mile agribusiness

The challenge

Capital was not reaching the agri-SMEs and farmer enterprises that anchor first-mile supply chains.

Our approach

WARC designed an inclusive-finance facility and SME support model, with the impact-measurement systems investors needed to deploy with confidence.

The result

  • A finance facility tailored to first-mile enterprises
  • A pipeline of investable agri-SMEs
  • Impact reporting that crowded in further capital
